The John Merrick and his nieces return to their vacation home in Millville New York where the girls become bored with vacationing and want to participate more in town life. Beth is a regular reader of newspapers, so with Uncle John's money, they decide to establish a newspaper of their own. That's when they discover that the greedy mill owners in the area attempting to scam the town.
L. Frank Baum was an author of children's books, best known for writing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. He wrote 55 novels in total, plus four "lost" novels, 83 short stories, over 200 poems, and more.
