In no way were they intended as art. Their name means Songs from Beuern, location of the monastery where they were found.Orff's interpretation of a selection of these songs, promoted them into the concert hall of the twentieth century. They still are a vibrant testimony of life's different aspects.Contrasting atmospheres in the performances by the renowned early music ensemble Modo Antiquo and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
