I do it willingly, although I cannot think that any special introduction is required.<br><br>The subject discussed in it is so important, and the manner in which it is treated is so good, that I hope and believe the Volume will recommend itself to that increasing portion of the public which takes an interest in one of the greatest and most pressing questions of the day.<br><br>It is a matter of deep regret that the Author of the Letters of which the book is mainly composed, did not live to complete his work.
