I have tried to shew in the Introduction that a thorough examination of the Euthyphro forms an excellent training for thp study of Plato's more profound and complex dialogues: and with this end in view, I have spared no effort to make my exposition of Plato's style and doctrine as complete as possible.<br><br>The text is based on Schan'z collation of B and T, the few cases where I have departed from these manuscripts being noted in the commentary. In writing the notes, I have derived considerable help from the annotated editions of Fritzsche and Wohlrab, but above all from that of Schanz, whose work in this department proves him as great in exegesis as he is patient and trustworthy in collating manuscripts.
