This work is a completely revised and up-dated edition of Modern Banking Law which was published by OUP in 1987. Since 1987 there have been a number of important changes in the law relating to banking especially in respect of banking supervision, credit supervision, secured transactions, and the bank's position as fiduciary agent and constructive trustee. In response, the authors have expanded the text and added new sections where appropriate. In addition, the widespread effects of EC Law have had to be accommodated not only in the existing text but also by way of a new chapter. As a result, the book is even better suited to the purposes for which it was originally intended.
