Excerpt from Oration: Delivered on the Seventy-Sixth Anniversary of the Declaration of the Independence of the United States, July 4, 1851, in the Senate Chamber of the Capitol at Annapolis<br><br>Col. Geo. W. Hughes:<br><br>Dear Sir, - The Committee of Arrangements are very desirous of having the interesting and appropriate address, delivered by you in the Senate Chamber of the Capitol, on the occasion of our last National Anniversary, placed in their hands for publication, that those who had not the opportunity to hear may be gratified by a perusal of the noble and patriotic sentiments therein contained.<br><br>As chairman of the committee, I respectfully ask for a copy of your address for the purpose above specified.<br><br>I hate the honor to be, very respectfully, your obedient servant,<br><br>Thos. H. O'Neal, Ch.
