Opis
Reflections on Disability: An African Voice is a co-authored book written by African educators Francis Emson Dakwa, Lillian Chirombe, Patricia Muvirimi, and Kundisai Mudita.
Francis Emson Dakwa contributed two chapters. The first, on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, considers if this is a behaviour disorder or a learning disability. His second chapter deals with inclusion of learners with disabilities presented from an African viewpoint.
In her chapter titled Conduct Disorders: A Practitioner's Menu, Lillian Chirombe deals with various conduct disorders that affect children and how to help them.
Patricia Muvirimi's chapter covers the inclusion of children with a hearing impairment, while Kundisai Mudita tackles the issue of problems related to children with intellectual disabilities and how these challenges could be accommodated within the mainstream.
Educators and practitioners of children with specific learning needs will benefit greatly from this book.
Francis Emson Dakwa and co-authors Lillian Chirombe, Patricia Muvirimi, and Kundisai Mudita are practitioners in the field of special needs education at the Great Zimbabwe University. They lecture in the areas of inclusion of learners with exceptionalities, learners with intellectual disabilities, hearing impairment, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and other children's disorders.
This is the third book for Dakwa. He has published Poems for the Young and Poems for Couples. His next book will be Poems for Teens. This is the first book for Chirombe and Muvirimi. For Mudita, this is her second book. Her first is titled Echoes of Wisdom: Poems for Children and Youth.
