But even then I felt the necessity of presenting the other aspect of the matter - of showing how Russia has Europeanized herself, of summing up the action of European influences in the past and the present of the great Slav Empire.<br><br>The happenings of the present time, and the participation of Russia in the formidable struggle against Prussian Imperialism, increase the importance of the question of the relations between Russia and the West.<br><br>I shall be happy if the present volume will help the English public to study these relations.<br><br>G.
