Excerpt from The Early History of the Jews in New York, 1654-1664: Some New Matter on the Subject<br><br>This date, however, requires change; it is the date when the ship left Holland, as appears from a record at Albany giving a list of passengers sailing from Holland to New Netherland between 1654 and 1664, who had not prepaid their passage. This shows that Jacob Barsimson and Jacob Aboaf, Jews, left Holland to come here with the Perehoom, or Peartree, on July 8, 1654, and that Aboaf did not continue his journey but stopped off in England.
