”The conference ”Global and Regional Governance - European <br>
Perspective and Beyond” (Wroclaw, Poland, 24-26 May 2007) was<br>
a joint event of the Central and East European International<br>
Studies Association and the GARNET Network of Excellence<br>
established with the European Union support. It was organised <br>
by the Institute of International Studies, University of Wroclaw.<br>
This book, inspired by the conference's theme, focuses on economic <br>
aspects of the contemporary world. The authors consider relations<br>
between multilateralism and the new regionalism; micro and macro<br>
perspectives of governance; and the regulations and institutions<br>
of governance. They also analyse how transition countries adapt<br>
to the global economy as well as to the challenges of European <br>
economic space. I believe that the publication will make a significant<br>
contribution to academic discussion of global and regional governance.”
