Each sees what he takes with him, so that several views are more illuminating than one. Because of this I hope that there will be a place for another record of travel in many of the most interesting parts of the world.<br><br>Learning by experience, in protracted tours, that a certain amount of information is necessary to the interpretation of what one sees and hears, I have endeavored to interweave such knowledge with the narrative without impeding the natural flow of description.
